Bobbi Kristina Whitney Houston role on the way? The daughter of the late singer wants to play the role of her mother in new biopic. According to TMZ, quoting Bobbi’s friends, the 19-year-old teen thinks she the best person to play the part of Whitney because she was the one who knew he singer better.
Rihanna has already revealed that she would also love to play Whitney Houston. So far, no such project has been made public. But just in case, we have already two competitors. Not to mention Jennifer Hudson.
Whitney Houston died on February 11. Her body was found in a bath tub in her hotel room in Los Angeles. The cause of her death was drowning with the help of cocaine found in her system after the autopsy.
Whitney Houston was romantically linked to American football star Randall Cunningham and actor Eddie Murphy in the 80s. The singer met Bobby Brown at the 1989 Soul Train Music Awards. They were married three years later on July 18, 1992. The two have a 19-year-old daughter together: Bobbi Kristina Houston. Houston separated from Brown in September 2006 and asked for divorce on February 2007. The divorce was finalized on April 24, 2007, with Houston granted custody of the couple’s daughter.
In one interview she gave to Oprah Winfrey in 2009, Whitney declared that, despite their tumultuous relationship, “I loved him so much…He was my drug. I didn’t do anything without him”. During his performance on the night after Whitney Houston’s death, Bobby Brown dedicated a song to his former late wife and told her that he loved her.
As for her professional career, in 2009, the Guinness World Records cited Whitney as the most-awarded female act of all-time. She released seven studio albums and three movie soundtrack albums. She is the only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits and the only female artist to have two number-one Billboard 200 Album awards on the Billboard magazine year-end charts.
Houston’s first acting role was as the star of the feature film The Bodyguard (1992). The film’s original soundtrack won the 1994 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Its lead single ‘I Will Always Love You‘, became the best-selling single by a female artist in music history. Houston also starred in ‘Waiting to Exhale’ (1995) and ‘The Preacher’s Wife’ (1996). ‘The Preacher’s Wife’ soundtrack became the best-selling gospel album in history.
