Kanye West has been hit was a new copyright lawsuit.

The rapper has been accused of sampling an unauthorised song on his 2006 mixtape Freshmen Adjustment 2.

The accusation comes from The Persuaders singer Robert ‘Bobby’ Poindexter who has demanded $500,000 in damages.

Poindexter claims Kayne featured the R&B group’s Trying Girls Out in a remix version of Girls, Girls, Girls without seeking permission.

The lawsuit quotes Poindexter as saying:  “I have offered to resolve this matter out of court with Kanye West.

“But in response, he has refused to even discuss any ‘out-of-court’ resolutions whatsoever. Nor has he provided any evidence that he is demanding others to cease and desist from selling the illegal version.”

This isn’t the first time West has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit.

Soul singer Syl Johnson waged a court battle against the rap star last autumn over the unauthorised use of his Different Strokes on Jay-Z collaboration The Joy. The pair settled the suit last month.
